Some things are better left unsaid. But if you're anything like me, subtlety is not your forte. It's sometimes hard to keep a heart bursting with love and affection "in check". Infatuation sometimes gets the best of us. It's knowing how to deal with it and making it work without letting the feelings get in the way. That's what "Suppose I Told You" is all about.
Mathieu Dulong once again came through. I wanted a Lindsey Buckingham-esque wall of acoustic guitars and that's exactly what we got. I overdubbed four guitar parts on my beloved Breedlove acoustic with the microphone at different distances.
Watch out for Félix Tellier-Pouliot's scorching electric guitar solo. He truly rose to the occasion and delivered the goods. Our rythm section of Tommy and Sebastien keep it all driving forward and Fatima Radic's sumptuous vocal harmonies truly sealed the deal.
"Loving you, that,s the easy part..."
lyrics
Suppose I Told You (Comeau)
Loving you, that's the easy part
Falling slowly, right from the start
I'm so afraid, to let you know
Yet I'm about as subtle as a circus show
Loving you, stirring me up inside
Wanna tell you just how I feel, then I run and hide
Oh, everybody knows what I'm talking about
I just wish you had me all figured out
Suppose I told you
I have fallen
Suppose I told you
I have fallen for you
Loving you, got a hold on me
Finally felt like I was where I was meant to be
It's been a long, cold, lonely winter
I just wish I could've stayed just a little while longer
Suppose I told you
I have fallen
Suppose I told you
I have fallen for you
Is it me? Is it you?
Is it just my imagination?
Did I see... see something in your eyes?
See something in your eyes...
Loving you, that's the easy part
Falling slowly, right from the start
I'm so afraid. to let it show
Yeah, but it's in these words, it's in this song
Don't you know?
Suppose I told you
I have fallen
Suppose I told you
I have fallen for you
